Little Sure Shot

16" tall x 7" wide x 5" deep

Standing just five feet tall, Annie Oakley was a talented sharpshooter. The famous Lakota Chief Sitting Bull saw her perform in Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show and nicknamed her "Little Sure Shot".

Little Sure Shot is a soft sculpture art doll with Tibetan lamb hair and a needle sculpted face which is colored with prisma pencils and pastels. She wears a cotton twill pleated skirt and blouse with covered buttons. Concealed beneath her skirt, she wears black stockings and white muslin drawers which feature pintucks and eyelet edging with entredeux. Black leather boots are topped with suede gaiters which are fastened at the back with leather straps and snaps. Her felt hat is bound with hand dyed trim and embellished with a six pointed star. Leather shooting gloves protect her hands. She is holding her Winchester rifle. The medals pinned to her chest reflect the many shooting contests she has won.
